Wolseley Ireland Commercial
Wolseley Ireland has established a new Commercial division with the aim to fully exploit our unrivalled product range across all our brands.
The new division aims to position Wolseley Ireland as the customer’s number-one choice for quality and value, while maximising the opportunity for cross sales. Wolseley Ireland Commercial was established in April this year.
According to National Sales Manager Shane Colleran, who heads up the Commercial division: “Our sole aim is to bring all our brands together and exploit one of our key advantages over our competitors – that no other merchant offers the same portfolio of products as us.”
The creation of Commercial will see the company take a cross-brand approach in three key areas – account management, sales support and customer support.
Regionally based account managers will be responsible for managing existing large clients across all brands in a move intended to improve the quality of customer service and communication where needed. They will also look to develop new business opportunities across the brands. Wolseley Ireland Commercial will begin with two account managers (for Dublin and Munster) with plans to add more as time progresses.
Recent research with our larger commercial customers showed they felt we have no cohesive company-wide commercial strategy for larger customers. It also showed they found us difficult to do business with, due to limitations to our pricing and specification processes. As the market becomes increasingly competitive, these are the areas we need to improve on to become best in class. We hope the new account manager team will help us achieve this
The sales support team, based in head office, is tasked with developing accurate and improved sales and pricing information and will assist in generating leads and sales across all brands.
Large customers will also now benefit from a single point of contact for pricing, information, customer service, ordering, deliveries and more, all via the new customer support team in Athlone. The creation of this division will also allow us to get involved in the early stages of the tendering process for large government products.
Collectively, these key areas will allow us to improve our customer service, management and fulfilment of projects for large existing and potential customers across all brands.
They will also provide our branch sales people and sales representatives with the support and information they need to provide a comprehensive service to our customers at a more local level.
